Bank interest rates available to Lehigh Valley residents declined from 2.95% to 1.97% during the past 12 months.  The Lehigh Valley Bank Savers Index is based upon a representative sample of banks with branches within the Lehigh Valley.  It is the average of these banks’ money market account, 3-month CD, 6-month CD, 1-year CD, 2-year CD, 3-year CD, and 5-year CD.

The Lehigh Valley Bank Savers Index currently yields 1.97%.  After deducting the burden of income taxes, the after tax yield is reduced to only 1.48%.

NOTE:  the rates above are believed to from reliable sources but those rates cannot be guaranteed.  Rates may change without prior notice.  The rate of income tax for above calculations assumes a 25% marginal income tax rate.
